I looked at several brownie recipes trying to find one that tasted like a boxed brownie mix. I ended up with this recipe. |

This recipe is my Great Grandma Joan's Sour Cream Coffee Cake. It is very delicious and does not need to be refrigerated, and I emailed the extension office to confirm the recipe is approved. I practiced this many times before my final entry, as my goal was to try and perfect it for my fair entry. I worked towards my goal by reading the recipe and making sure I had all fresh ingredients and cooking materials before starting. I also asked for tips and advice from my family members who have made it many times. The most important things I learned were 1) do your best, 2) check materials before starting, and 3) it is ok to ask for help. Some problems I faced were 1) I didn't already have all the ingredients, 2) I misunderstood parts of the recipe the first time (tbsp v tsp), and 3) I slightly overcooked it the first time. I don't think I will do anything in this project area next year because I might try a different project area. |
